ANANIN
Vladimir Borisovich

9 October 1955 – 20 July 2018

Vladimir Ananin was born in 1955 into a family of a military officer. He finished Moscow school No. 185. In 1973-1975 he served in the Soviet Army.

In 1983 he graduated from the Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry (the faculty of interior design and equipment) with a degree in the decorative arts. After his graduation he worked in the Special Art and Design Bureau.

1988-1992 гг. – Supervisor of monuments in the Ministry of Culture of Russia; Deputy director of the Association “Russian Monumental Arts”.

1992-1997 гг. – Member of the V.V.Vereschagin Studio of Artists under the Interior Ministry of Russia.

1997-2006 гг. – Head of the Heraldic Office, Headquarters of the Interior Ministry of Russia.

С 2006 по 2018 год – Advisor to the Directorof the Moscow Mint at «Goznak «(State Administration for the Issue of Bank Notes)on issues related to product design and styling. Head of the Moscow «Goznak» Design Centre.

In 1998 Vladimir Ananin joined the Moscow Union of Artists.

He worked in the fields of monumental sculpture, medallic art, heraldy andjewelry. He was an author and co-author of the awards and decorations of the Interior Ministry of Russia, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia, the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund of Russia, the Higher Judges’ Qualifications Board, the “Best People of Russia” encyclopedia and a number of public decorations.

His original works are in the collections of Russian museums, private collections, the Fund of Gifts at the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.
